Linda Doyle elected to leadership post at Dublin institution after promising to decentralise power

Trinity College Dublin has appointed the first female provost in its 429-year history.

Linda Doyle, a professor of engineering and the arts at the university, will take up the role from 1 August, when Patrick Prendergast’s decade-long term comes to an end.
