Institutions told to work harder on gender equality

“Much more to be done,” minister warns as landmark review is launched

There is “much more to be done” to advance gender equality in Irish higher education institutions, said higher education minister Simon Harris last week as he announced a review of progress made since 2016.

A national review of gender equality is to be carried out by an expert group on behalf of the Irish Higher Education Authority (HEA). This review will assess progress since the last review, and make five to ten “high-level recommendations” for institutions on how to better support gender equality.
