Initiative builds on Good Friday Agreement to improve connection between Northern Ireland and republic
The north-south Research Programme has awarded €37.3 million to 62 collaborative research projects between academics in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The money was given out under the first call of the programme, which was set up as part of the Irish government’s Shared Island initiative. This initiative aims to build on the Good Friday Agreement between the Irish and British governments, and enhance collaboration on the island of Ireland—including in areas of research and innovation.
