US-Ireland research gets €21m funding boost

Ongoing programme includes Northern Ireland on projects covering health, communications and quantum technology

Research partnerships between Ireland, Northern Ireland and the US have received €21 million as part of an ongoing US-Ireland partnership programme for R&D.

The programme, which has been operating for 17 years, was conceived as part of the Good Friday Agreement to increase levels of collaborative R&D among researchers and industry across the three jurisdictions.
