Irish Covid-19 response programme to place bigger focus on collaborative research to solve problems
A windfall budget for cooperative research will be spread between 47 teams as part of the latest funding round of Ireland’s €65 million National Challenge Fund.
The fund was awarded an extra €13m to support research teams working on solutions to major environmental and societal issues. Funded by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, the fund calls on researchers to identify problems related to Ireland’s green transition and digital transformation, and to work with those directly affected to solve them.
