Concern grows over health of student held in Egypt

     

University of Bologna student sends plea from prison as prosecutors push for justice

Italian academics are increasingly concerned about the health of a Università di Bologna student who is held in prison in Egypt.

Egyptian-born Patrick Zaky was arrested in the country in February, and charged with inciting protest and instigating terrorism. Zaky has a fellowship to attend an EU-funded programme at the Università di Bologna on women’s and gender studies.
