Italy’s research minister opens seven-year plan for consultation

Gaetano Manfredi sets out his stall in an exclusive interview with Research Professional News

For the first time, all of Italy’s researchers and funders are to be allowed a say on the country’s seven-year national research programme.

The Italian National Programme for Research (Programma nazionale per la ricerca 2021-2027), will be subject to 30 days of public consultation, starting Tuesday 11 August. This is one of the first tangible results of the work started by the Minister of University and Research Gaetano Manfredi, who this week spoke exclusively to Research Professional News about the seven troubled months since he took office last January.
