Biology organisation's members say Italy fails to adequately support curiosity-driven researchers
A group of Italian researchers has launched a petition to the government demanding the establishment of a funding programme for curiosity-driven research by individuals.
The petition was created by members of the European Molecular Biology Organization, a Germany-based biology research organisation bringing together more than 1,800 scientists. The signatories propose what they call an Italian Individual Grant Programme, named iScience for ‘individual science’.
