Italy ‘needs skills boost to meet biotech growth’

Report says demand will rise in half of all roles, with researchers particularly sought after

Italy’s biotech sector will grow significantly in the next decade, but far more must be done to make sure the country has the researchers needed to fuel this growth, according to an industry association analysis.

In a report published this month by the consultancies Ernst & Young and Jefferson Wells, machine learning was used to forecast the job market in 2030 for 122 roles that are currently key across the biotech sector, from sales associates to factory workers to researchers.
