The Netherlands is poised to become a leader in photonics, says René Penning de Vries
In December 2018 knowledge institutes, governments and companies signed into life the PhotonDelta poroject. The initiative’s aim, to speed up the development of commercial and socially useful applications derived from photonics research, will soon be tested against reality. PhotonDelta’s first public-private research projects are expected to start within a couple of months.
“Things are going well,” says René Penning de Vries, chairman of the supervisory board of the PhotonDelta foundation. A committee has assessed funding applications from public-private partnership projects and approved six.
