Sarah de Rijcke of RoRI tells Merel Postma how pressure does not always create quality research
As co-chair of the Research on Research Institute, launched on 30 September, Sarah de Rijcke has her work cut out. The institute was founded by The Wellcome Trust, Leiden University, the University of Sheffield, and Digital Science. Its goal is to better understand what creates excellent science and help researchers do their best work.
But growing pressures such as citation evaluation and increasing competition create hurdles on the way to brilliance.
