Concern over tight deadline for circular economy subsidy

Communication failure in government leaves only months to complete projects

An extremely short deadline for a €44 million grant to fund pilots and demonstration projects targeting recycling and reuse of waste has raised eyebrows with Dutch innovators.

The government is making the money available in an effort to reduce waste and CO2 emissions. However, any subsidised projects must be completed by 31 December 2020, while the call for the scheme runs from August 2019 to 22 September 2020.
