Country’s capacity to research cyber threats is sufficient, says state secretary

The Dutch government has rejected plans for a cybersecurity institute that would have coordinated research projects in the field, according to economic affairs and climate secretary Mona Keijzer.

In a letter to parliament, Keijzer said that an evaluation of Dutch research capacity in cybersecurity had not demonstrated that a dedicated institute would be necessary. The institute was proposed in 2017 by MPs Kees Verhoeven and Arno Rutte.
