Report calls for closer contact between researchers and schools

Lack of interaction between teachers and education researchers is bad for both parties, advisers say

Education researchers should collaborate more closely with teachers, head teachers and school communities to improve the outcomes of their research, a report has said.

Written by policy advisory body the Rathenau Institute, it says that better coordination of public involvement in science is required. Funding from the Netherlands Initiative for Education Research—the NRO—often ends up financing projects that answer questions from an enthusiastic but limited group of people in the field, it says.
