The Netherlands educates excellent artificial intelligence experts, but many of them leave
Three-quarters of Dutch researchers in artificial intelligence have spent some time working abroad, according to a report commissioned by the Rathenau Institute, a policy think tank.
AI is one of the most international research fields in the Netherlands, the report says, with 14 per cent of Dutch AI researchers having spent at least two years abroad or having left the country permanently. The proportion of incoming AI researchers from other countries is roughly the same, at 13 per cent.
