University medical centres lead the way on gender equality

   

Majority of centres’ future medical specialists will be women, think tank predicts

Gender parity has already been achieved in almost all areas of work at the eight university medical centres in the Netherlands, according to a report from the Rathenau Institute, a policy think tank.

Women outnumber men as research staff, doctors’ assistants and non-specialist doctors at the centres, which combine medical faculties, training centres, patient care and research facilities.
