NWO chair Marcel Levi discusses how the Dutch funder can make life easier for researchers

On behalf of the Dutch government, the NWO research council channels almost €1 billion a year into research that has scientific and social impact. Marcel Levi, the council’s chair since April, believes that while a lot goes well at the funder, there is still room for improvement.

“We are currently polishing and sharpening our strategy from 2018 and will present our modified strategy before the summer next year,” he tells Research Professional News. Although he cannot reveal specifics about the strategy, he says it is driven by a desire to make life easier for researchers.
