The Dutch Research Agenda incorporates thousands of questions submitted by the public

In 2015, Dutch citizens submitted 12,000 questions as part of an effort by the government to better link science with societal challenges.

The questions were bundled into 140 clusters, which were connected through 25 routes. In 2018, the NWO research council was commissioned to implement the resulting Dutch Research Agenda, the budget for which is now €130 million a year.
