‘Cross-fertilisation’ between disciplines will boost innovation, academics tell minister
The Netherlands needs a special fund to support work at the intersection between the arts and science, the country’s academy for early-career scholars has proposed.
The Young Academy has sent a letter to education, culture and science minister Robbert Dijkgraaf, calling for a fund to “cross-fertilise” collaboration between artists and academic researchers. The initiative is needed, the academy writes, as there is a “growing urgency” for such funding.
