Investment aims to modernise ESTEC and enhance prospects for space startups, researchers, students and suppliers
The Dutch caretaker cabinet has promised an extra €22.2 million to support research and innovation in space technologies, on top of the €500m in public funding allocated up until 2025.
The cabinet’s focus is on strengthening scientific and business infrastructures associated with the country’s aerospace sector. The money is mainly intended to allow the modernisation of ESTEC, the technical heart of the European Space Agency (ESA), located in the Dutch coastal town of Noordwijk (pictured).
