Research council and science academy urged to abandon fossil fuel companies not tackling climate change
Hundreds of Dutch researchers have called on the country’s main research council and science academy to cut ties with fossil fuel companies unless they show clear commitments to fighting climate change.
Under the banner of Scientists4Future NL, some 450 signatories asked the NWO Research Council and the KNAW Science Academy to make sure they do not engage with projects that would compromise targets set to limit global warming in the Paris Climate Agreement.
