Dutch universities issue pre-election call to back science

Ahead of 22 November poll, UNL says next government must continue to support research sector

The UNL association of Dutch universities has cast an eye over the performance of the outgoing Rutte IV cabinet and published recommendations on higher education for the next administration.

On 22 November, a general election is due to take place to replace the government of prime minister Mark Rutte (pictured), and with the future of Dutch politics in the balance, the UNL called on the next government to “preserve the value of science”.
