Clearer rules needed on teaching in English, Dutch minister says

                      

Dijkgraaf accepts that revisions to legislation are needed in response to concerns raised in parliament

Science minister Robbert Dijkgraaf has agreed with MPs that legal exceptions allowing bachelor’s courses in the Netherlands to be taught in English are in need of revision.

Responding to 27 written questions from independent MP Pieter Omtzigt, Dijkgraaf accepted that changes to the Dutch Higher Education and Research Act were needed, specifically to clarify when and why courses can be taught in English rather than Dutch.
