Initiative aims to reduce inequality between full, associate and assistant professors

All qualified lecturers teaching on PhD programmes and contributing to research projects should have the same rights as full professors, according to the Dutch Young Academy.

The Everyone Professor initiative, launched on 28 March, will lobby higher education institutions and the Dutch government to provide more privileges for those involved in PhD education. At present, the Young Academy said, special ceremonial rights and work privileges are only available to full, tenured professors—which it says is unfair to other teaching staff.
