Dutch institutions commit to changing hiring and evaluation processes
Research funders and universities in the Netherlands have published a roadmap outlining the next steps in the Recognition and Rewards programme, which seeks to improve how scientific performance is evaluated.
The roadmap was jointly published by members of the UNL association of Dutch universities and the KNAW academy of sciences. It represents the next step in a process that began in 2019, when universities and funders joined forces to publish a position paper on the need for a culture change in how researchers are evaluated, recognised and rewarded, incorporating a broader definition of excellence.
