Teacher shortage and high inflation rates trigger appeal from Dutch institutions
The UNL association of Dutch universities has made an urgent appeal to the cabinet to increase the budget for staff salaries across the education sector.
The extra money is needed because of a teacher shortage across the Netherlands and historically high inflation rates, the UNL said in a letter. It was joined in its appeal by the VH association of applied universities, the MBO Council for vocational education, the VO Council for further education and the PO Council for primary education.
