Ministers pitch flexible learning law

              

Move aims to entice Dutch professionals to university by acknowledging skills acquired during their careers

Dutch science minister Robbert Dijkgraaf and education minister Dennis Wiersma have proposed a law aiming to make further education more attractive to workers and jobseekers.

The proposal encourages flexible learning paths at universities and colleges, which would benefit those seeking to enter jobs where there is a staff shortage, such as education, technology and healthcare, the ministers said. The law would also help those changing careers to use their previous professional experience, they added.
