Dutch universities lose trust in league tables

University group announces plans to discourage use of league tables and support alternatives

Dutch universities have said that they will stop using global league tables in internal evaluations and will try to discourage their use by the government.

In a statement on 4 July, the UNL association of Dutch universities announced its intention to take a more critical approach to global league tables, in part by contributing to alternatives and by working with institutions in other countries to produce a culture change.
