Eppo Bruins’ stance contrasts with Dutch government’s broader position on international student numbers
The Netherlands’ new science and education minister has defended a plan to recruit foreign students who might contribute to the country’s microchip workforce, against the government’s broader intention to stem the inflow of international learners.
On 26 August, Eppo Bruins and economic affairs minister Dirk Beljaarts provided written answers to parliamentary questions about the plan for the microchip sector. The questions were lodged by members of the New Social Contract party, of which Bruins is a member.
