Proposal for mandatory tech teaching in schools

Danes need better technical skills, which should be taught at earliest level, experts say

According to four senior Danish academics, digital technology should become a mandatory subject in schools and further education colleges.

The four academic leaders are Camilla Gregersen, chair of the Danish Master’s Association, Ole Sejer Iversen, professor at Aarhus University, Bjørn Ilsøe, head of department at the Copenhagen University College of Professional Studies, and Lisa Herold Ferbing, president of Danish IT. They wrote in Danish publication Altinget that Denmark needs a population that is curious about digital technology and has the ability to contribute to the development of digitalisation in society.
