Furore over sexism in Danish academia

Female academics prepare letter exposing scale of gender discrimination in higher education

A group of women in Denmark’s higher education institutions have collected more than 750 signatures from colleagues who say they have suffered sexism at work.

The signatures, which come from researchers and professors, contribute to a letter meant to throw a spotlight on sexist behaviour at Danish universities and colleges. The letter, the full text of which has not yet been made public, comes at a time when gender discrimination and sexism in Danish society are a topic of national debate.
