Sweden reports just one-third of clinical trials

Researchers are ‘wasting money’ by not publishing results, report finds

Only a third of all clinical trials due to be published in Sweden in 2020 were reported in a timely manner, with results from more than 200 studies missing entirely, according to a report.

The report, compiled by monitoring group TranspariMED and the Swedish Cochrane Centre for evidence-based medicine, said that researchers in the country are “wasting money”, as the failure to publish the results of unsuccessful trials leads to duplication and loss of knowledge.
