Review to probe design of Sweden’s state research funding

Government-appointed inquiry to ensure research is of highest quality, among other aims

The Swedish government has ordered a review of its public research funding process, in an effort to ensure it is as effective as possible.

Sweden is one of the European countries that spend the most on R&D as a proportion of GDP. The review aims to ensure funding supports high-quality research that focuses on societal development, and which promotes national and global collaboration as well as access to infrastructure.
