Swedish universities saw costs soar in 2022

                         

Half of higher education institutions faced an increase of more than 5 per cent

The operating costs of Swedish universities skyrocketed last year, according to a report by Swedish Higher Education Authority UKÄ.

UKÄ compiled financial data from the country’s 31 universities and found that their total operating costs amounted to 81.9 billion Swedish kronor (€7.3bn). This represents a hefty SKr 2.7bn increase in current prices, compared with 2021.
