Danish academics would be better off in private sector

          

Report urges more freedom for universities to set salaries and remain competitive

Academics are the only group of employees in Denmark who would consistently earn a better salary in the private sector, according to a review.

A report on the pay structure of Denmark’s public sector showed that some groups of academics can earn 20-30 per cent more if they change career to work in business. The report was compiled by the Danish government’s wage structure committee, which was set up in October 2021.
