Finnish tuition fee plan under fire

New government faces criticism from universities over proposal to charge international students for education

Just a week after its creation, Finland’s new government is already facing criticism from universities over plans to introduce tuition fees for international students.

The government formed on 20 June with the appointment of Petteri Orpo of the National Coalition Party as prime minister—74 days after the election. This is the second-longest time the country has ever taken to form a government.
