Sweden to explore AI’s effects on education

Country’s Higher Education Authority will present results of review by next March

Sweden’s government has asked the country’s Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) to analyse the future impact of artificial intelligence on higher education and the needs of the labour market.  

Announcing the review, Sweden’s education department said more and more ways of using AI are being discovered, and that the consequences for society could be substantial. It believes new services will lead to higher productivity in the public and private sectors, as well as new possibilities for education—which it wants to be investigated.
