Spreading help too thinly in Norway

A programme intended to coordinate Norway’s research into the problems of developing countries and to increase collaboration between Norwegian researchers and colleagues in these countries is still struggling to fulfil its objectives.

The Norwegian Research Council hosted a conference to assess the progress of its four-year Norglobal programme on 25 October. The programme, set up in 2009, was intended to address the fragmentation and isolation of Norwegian research on development issues by bringing it together under one banner and creating links with researchers in poor countries.
