Emergency planning research gets funding

Pan-Nordic research agency NordForsk is investing 300,000 Norwegian kroner (€40,000) in a feasibility study on public safety, it announced on 31 October. The study will look at threats including climate change, terrorism and organised crime.

“Civil protection and emergency planning has been high on the Nordic parliamentary agenda for many years, but until now not much has happened in cooperation with regard to research,” said Bengt Sundelius, a political scientist focused on crisis management and international cooperation.
