Sweden’s research council withdraws verdict in suspected fraud case

The Swedish Research Council (VR) has withdrawn its guilty conclusion in a fraud case that had culminated in the University of Gothenburg asking the government to remove a high-profile researcher from her post.

Pam Fredman, the vice-chancellor of the university, made the written request at the end of August, but in light of the VR’s decision she has now retracted it.
