The Karolinska Institute (KI) in Stockholm, Sweden, remains Scandinavia’s highest ranked university in the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities, known as the Shanghai ranking, published on 15 August.
KI moved up two positions compared to last year’s ranking, placing 42nd in the world. Out of a total 24 Nordic universities featured in the top 500, 11 are Swedish, and three of these are ranked among the best 100 institutions globally.
