An issue of outstanding debts from the Spanish member organisations in the European Science Foundation has been resolved, the ESF has said.
The foundation said on 16 May that the Spanish organisations are now in good financial standing and that it has lifted the restrictions it had imposed on funding for Spanish researchers.
In March, the ESF announced it was cutting off funds to Spanish researchers because Spain’s national research council (CSIC) and ministry of economy and competitiveness had failed to pay their membership dues.
