Spain lends labs €95 million

The Spanish government has announced a special €95-million loan to support research in the country’s public institutions.

The funding, approved on 14 May, will strengthen calls for research projects this year and next, and support the hiring of researchers at public centres, the Spanish ministry of economy and competitiveness said in a statement.

The loan is part of a number of financial incentives intended to boost economic growth, announced this month in the run up for the regional, local and national elections later this year.
