The Austrian Science Fund is exploring plans to split its funding equally between male and female researchers and updating its career programme to target women researchers.
A consultation on the proposals, which also include matching acceptance rates for both genders, is due to continue until the end of the year.
The promotion of women remains a core concern, the FWF, Austria’s national funder, said in a statement on 27 March, and is future career development programme will seek to address their specific needs, such as re-entry into the profession.
