A review of the Initiation Grants offered by the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education, or Stint, has found shortcomings in the number of university teachers who apply.
The consultancy firm Sweco said in a review published on 28 August that the grants scheme was generally performing well but that Stint should encourage more teachers to apply. Initiation Grants were launched in 2011 and aim to facilitate academic collaborations with countries outside the EU or the European Free Trade Association.
The programme aims to support the early stages of strategic international partnerships through short-term projects. Since its launch, 259 such projects have been funded.
