Funds take scheme to €412m as part of ‘shock plan’ to boost research

The Spanish government has approved a near-14 per cent increase to the budget of its main R&D funding programme.

In a 10 November press release, the Ministry of Science and Innovation (pictured) said the €412 million budget approved for projects under the auspices of its State Research Agency (AEI) was €50m more than in 2019. The boost is part of a wider ‘shock plan’ approved in July to rejuvenate research and innovation nationally, the ministry said.
