Commission president ‘awaits further details’ on talks that could shape EU-Switzerland R&D ties

Switzerland is to resume talks with the EU on an overarching treaty designed to simplify relations between the two, and which could determine Swiss involvement in the 2021-27 EU R&D programme, Horizon Europe.

The Swiss government has said it is ready to resume talks with the bloc. On 12 November the country’s president, Simonetta Sommaruga, called the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, to lay out the Swiss position.
