Croatia’s academic research network hit by cyberattack

Distributed denial-of-service attack overwhelms intranet

Croatia’s national university intranet was partially shut down by a cyberattack earlier this week, when attackers deliberately overloaded the system with access requests.

The distributed denial-of-service attack was confirmed by Carnet, the public body within the Croatian science ministry that runs the academic intranet, on 16 March.
