Teaching at Austrian universities halted over coronavirus

University events also restricted in raft of new measures

Face-to-face teaching at Austrian universities is being halted to help prevent the spread of the global coronavirus outbreak, the country’s chancellor Sebastian Kurz (pictured) has announced.

A raft of measures announced on 10 March included restrictions on events and cessation of teaching at universities and universities of applied sciences.
