Management change at renowned Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory follows global campaign

Supporters of a Serbian academic institute renowned for its political dissidence have gained ground in a battle with the country’s government over what they see as interference in academia more broadly.

Amid pressure from campaigners, the government changed some of its appointed managers at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory at the University of Belgrade, but denied accusations that it had been interfering with academia.
